Ministry Opportunity Description |

|
To provide spiritual leadership and pastoral support for the programs and ministries of the church with special emphasis on ministry to youth (grades 6-12), their families, and young adults (age 18-35)
RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Share in general pastoral responsibilities, including worship leadership, preaching, and visitation. B. Work with Committees of the Session as needed, providing staff resourcing, energy, and vision. C. Work collaboratively with the staff and officers to develop and accomplish the ministry goals of the church, taking the lead where assigned. D. Serve in the teaching ministry of the congregation, being available for teaching responsibilities in a variety of age groupings. E. Lead the church's ministry for youth and young adults by developing and directing an ongoing program of spiritual growth through education, fellowship, worship and service opportunities. F. Develop and maintain a pastoral presence in the lives of youth and their families through regular visitation and by being present at various events involving youth. G. Promote participation by youth in the wider church through a variety of means, including camps, conferences, and retreats. H. Build relationships with young adults and develop suitable ministries of care, support, and nurture. I. Foster intergenerational relationships. J. Maintain a healthy self-esteem through appropriate acts of self-care and spiritual growth. |
