Ministry Opportunity Description |

|
|
A. Worship
• Plan worship; oversee bulletin preparation
• Consult with choir director/organist regularly
• Prepare/deliver sermons
• Preside over monthly communion
• Lead/support children’s participation in worship
• Plan special services including occasional services with neighbor churches
B. Pastoral Care
• Visit sick/frail members and friends in collaboration with appropriate committee
• Be in contact with those in crisis situations; make referrals as appropriate
• Advise on creating a system for care
• Observe requirements of neighborhood agreement regarding ministry to persons in need
at church door
• Meet quarterly with Pastoral Support Team
C. Administration
• Moderate Session and congregational meetings; consult regularly with Clerk
• Establish goals with Session; nurture reflection on our ministry
• Attend committee meetings
• Manage staff; hold regular meetings
• Supervise Seminary Assistant
• Maintain contact with the Director of the Lincoln Park Community Shelter
• Attend Presbytery meetings
• Establish regular office hours
• Oversee monthly/weekly communications and updating of website
• Write column for newsletter and post comments on the Facebook page
D. Education
• Present two adult studies per year
• Advise on children’s programs; lead confirmation class
• Lead periodic educational events after worship
• Develop leadership training
E. Mission
• Take part in mission and advocacy projects
• Participate in select community organizations |
