|SFTS at Big Tent Conference|
San Francisco Theological Seminary (SFTS) will be represented at the “Big Tent” conference hosted by the Presbyterian Church USA (PC/USA), August 1 – 3 in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Big Tent conference combines ten conferences under one roof while gathering thousands of Presbyterian pastors, elders, and other church leaders to study, share, and worship together. The conferences, ranging from multiculturalism, evangelism, church growth and social justice, will embody this year’s conference theme: “Placing God’s First Things First.”
SFTS will participate in a theological education conference at Big Tent with other PC(USA) seminaries and will cultivate relationships between prospective students, alumni, and the larger Presbyterian community.
“Given the focus on mission and service, Big Tent provides space to reflect on how theological education has helped shape the many ministries of the PC(USA). It also encourages conversation on how our Presbyterian seminaries can best serve the 21st Century church,” stated Rev. Elizabeth McCord, SFTS Director of Enrollment.
McCord will be joined by Rev. Scott Clark,SFTS Associate Dean of Student Life and Chaplain, and SFTS students Jeffery Ferguson, Cameron Highsmith, Rochelle Rawls Shaw and Tad Hopp.
