| SFTS Master Plan application is complete, environmental review under way |
The Town of San Anselmo has announced that the SFTS Master Plan application is complete and the environmental review is now under way.
This new plan for the SFTS campus in San Anselmo provides a framework for meeting the facilities needs of SFTS over the next 25 years. In July, the Board of Trustees accepted the MPA and authorized its submission to the Town of San Anselmo.
“This is a challenging and promising time for our seminary,” said Dr. Laird J. Stuart, SFTS interim president and professor of pastoral theology. “Although there are significant and difficult choices to be made, I am sure, we will be able to discern God's voice and calling, leading us toward and lifting our hearts for the future God has in store for us.”
Once accepted by the Town of San Anselmo, the MPA becomes a public document. SFTS consultants HartMarin have created a web site containing five volumes of the MPA application. SFTS faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends are invited to review the MPA by going to http://www.hartmarin.com/hmportal/sftsmpa.html.
There are two important renovation projects that are part of our campus development plans but are not reflected in the MPA since they do not involve new construction. These are the renovation of 134 Bolinas, a faculty home and one of the original grand Victorian homes on campus, and the renovation of Landon Hall, student apartments and sister to Hunter Hall which was renovated 10 years ago. The renovation of 134 Bolinas is under way and expected to be complete before the end of this year. The Landon Hall renovation will begin early next year to be ready for occupancy in the fall semester of 2011.
