Planned Gifts

Bequests
A simple and very popular way to make a significant future gift to the Seminary is to include it in your Will. You may state that the Seminary will receive a percentage of your estate, a fixed dollar amount, or the residue of your estate. Please call us and we can assist you with the proper wording for this type of gift.

Charitable Gift Annuity
Charitable Gift Annuities are simple contracts that pay the donor a fixed percentage based on their age at the time of the gift. Custom illustrations can be made for you at no charge by calling or emailing the Seminary's Director of Development. Lifetime income and tax benefits are valued by donors of chartable gift annuities. We're happy to assist you.

Charitable Remainder Trust
Similar to charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts also pay lifetime income to the donor and provide tax savings. The advantages of charitable remainder trusts are the options not afforded charitable gift annuities, such as setting a fixed percentage, setting a fixed annual payout amount, and opting for "make up" provisions. Call us today to get started.

Charitable Annuity Trust
Similar to charitable remainder trust, these gift plans provide lifetime income, tax savings, and pay to the donor a fixed percentage of the trust's value. Additional options are available. Please call us today to learn all of your options when establishing a planned gift.

Lead Trust
This gift instrument is a helpful way for people who desire to make significant gifts to SFTS using an income producing business or rental property, while retaining the asset for future generations of their family. For more information, please call us about this exciting option.

Life Insurance
Perhaps you own a life insurance policy and really don't need the benefits anymore. Did you know you can name SFTS as the beneficiary of your insurance policy? Please call us for more information. Combined with a charitable remainder trust, many donors are able to benefit SFTS and their grandchildren while avoiding taxes.

Remembrance Gifts

Memorial Gifts
To remember someone special in your life, please consider a gift in memory of a dear loved one. Families and congregations wishing to make gifts in memory of beloved pastors, family members, and close friends who are now with Christ in God's kingdom, may send gifts so noted to the Seminary's Development Office. All memorial gifts are listed in the annual Partners in Ministry Honor Roll and may be used in conjunction with designated endowment gifts, such as scholarships and faculty chairs.

Gift in Honor
To honor someone special in your life, please consider a gift in honor of a special pastor, family member, or friend who has helped shape your faith in Christ. All gifts donated in honor of someone you appreciate will be listed in the annual Partners in Ministry Honor Roll.
