an Francisco Theological Seminary is a proud
founding member of the Graduate Theological
Union, one of the largest partnerships of seminaries
and graduate schools in the country. As part of this
ecumenical and interreligious consortium, SFTS prepares
graduates to meaningfully and respectfully engage in a
world of religious diversity while remaining rooted in
its own faith tradition. Among the many educational
opportunities available to SFTS students are GTU
certificate programs:

Islamic Studies
SFTS students may complement their degree programs
and enhance their understanding of cultural and religious
traditions through certificate programs administered
through the GTU. Based in Berkeley, Calif., the GTU
includes nine seminaries and schools of theology. There
are also 11 academic centers, programs and affiliates,
with six centers offering certificate programs. The GTU
celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2012.
To register for a certificate program, submit an “Intent
to Enroll” to the GTU Dean’s office. Each certificate has
specific requirements for completion. More information
